Pictures of Repo and NOS 39 Desoto Knobs

Gentleman,

There has been several threads onthe reproduction knobs that the gentleman in Florida has been selling on ebay.

I order several of these knobs and have painted the dash knobs.

I have taken several pictures of the knobs. In the picture of the dash knobs there are two ros of knobs one row is NOS and the other is Repro. I also have a picture of the window handle with NOS handel witht he knob and another with the repro knob.

Now its your time to figure out what is Repro and what is NOS.

After several days I will post how many people have gotten the results correct.

I believe the reproduction knobs are on the left as they are all color consistant.

I agree with Don. All of the knobs look OK, but the ones on the left are consistent.

I'm going to swing the other way, the miss match colors are the originals. Since the original knobs might have been produced by different vendors, and the "Mix" would vary slightly, therefore allowing them to "age" differently.

I have been reading your posts ove rhte past night and day. Are you sure on your predictions. Also look at the window knob carefully and also look at the dash knobs carefully.

You might be wrong or you might be correctly I am not telling just yet!!!!

Also please comment on the quality of the reporductions if you want to. The more feedback the better.

In the third photo in your first posting it appears the wiper switch (middle right) has a chunk missing from the base. I stick with my original thoughts.

In the first picture the knobs onthe left side are the repos.

The knobs on the rights side the top and bottom ones are NOS and the wiper knob is old and used.

The knobs onthe window cranks handle the left is the repo and the right is an original handle with the knob attached. The repo just has the knob sitting on the handle.

Overall what is your take on the quality of the repo.

I think they are perfectly acceptable, and there would be few people who could say they were not original by looking into your car.
