48 Desoto 4D rear vent wings

My original rear vent wing frames are too rusted to chrome. Anyone have some that are decent enough to re-plate that they would like to unload? I believe the Dodge, Plymouth and Chrysler 4 doors of the 46-49 1st series are all the same.

I might have a set, will check it out tomorrow morning as it is night here now, and they are in a shed without electricity.

This car has them and if interested, email me. I can go and check on the condition of the chrome and you may possibly not have to rechrome. It's been a while since I've seen the car but I can check any time.

Its hard to tell for sure from the pics but they seem to be in much better shape than the ones I have. Since you have them in front of you, do you think they could be plated with good results?

Dodge, DeSoto and Chrysler will interchange glass, but not Plymouth.

The new body introduced for 1941 Dodge, DeSoto and Chrysler models was 3 inches longer and wider than the Plymouth. The 1941 Plymouth continued with the 1940 body.

That could be the case. Robert also told me the D25 was actually a Plymouth body but he's going to measure to compare to mine. At any rate, I'm probably going to be looking still. Thanks!

I have a '48 Desoto that we are parting out... The majority of parts we have taken off the car have been in very good condition.. I will check the rear windows and get pictures of them for you.

Went and did the measuring and as expected and stated by B-Watson, window is definitley smaller by about 1 1/2". Anyone need rear vent windows for a Plymouth P15 or Dodge D25 four door? I have more pictures if interested.

Bill, several of the nice guys on the forum have tried to help, but I'm still looking. Let me know what you find out.
