Olddaddy
I have a couple flathead six engines in my shop waiting their turns for rebuild. I went out to pull the engine ID numbers today and found a mystery. One of the engines has no ID number stamped on the block. I've never seen this and wondered if anyone else has? I suppose it's a rebuild block or maybe an industrial engine. The other engine number is T112*17121. Anyone know the year of this one? PatS....
Charlie, My industrial engine has no stamped number...just a blank pad. Doesn't look like it was ground off, just never had one. I'm thinking of stamping my original engine's number on the pad. at
Young Ed
Charlie a T112 is I believe out of a 46-47 WC. I looked for quite a while to find one of those for my 46. Of course its still a bare block sitting in my garage too.
greg g
I believe I saw somewhere where unnumbered blocks were sold to rebuilders, equipment manufacturers, and others. They would build up the blocks and sell them or use them in their equipment. Some one posted a picture of a warehouse full of engine blocks, new block castings as far as the eyes can see.
