ggdad1951 Posted September 22, 2010 Report Posted September 22, 2010 ok, starting to test fit parts prior to some major assembly time. I've noted that the brackets riveted to the frame for the front spring rear shackle are WAY loose for the shackle threaded bushing, in fact, they pretty much slide in. I'm thinking this is NOT a good thing. Thoughts? Can one find these cast brackets anywhere really or are they going to be a salvage operation? Can one "repair" them in any way? Quote
Tony_Urwin Posted September 22, 2010 Report Posted September 22, 2010 If it's the brackets that are worn, you can get new ones at SILKE'S AUTO PARTS INC. JACKSONVILLE, FL 32217 (904) 737-8600 or COLLECTORS AUTO SUPPLY OROVILLE, WA 98844 (800) 414-4462 Personally, I have never been able to afford anything at COLLECTORS. I think they specialize in classic auto parts for foreign millionaires. Quote
Young Ed Posted September 22, 2010 Report Posted September 22, 2010 Try Roberts. I know he has the ones for the rear of the rear springs on my 46. Quote
