I went to a show and parade in Lindstrom, MN today with my 50 Dodge and saw this beautiful 39 Plymouth. The car is all original (except the outside paint). What an attention getter it was. Even the push button radio worked.

The 39 looks really nice. I took a minute to check out your 50 Dodge, very nice. I'm sure that I've seen it before at a local show. I hope to be at the Hudson show in Blaine this Sunday; maybe I'll see you there.

I'll be there if I don't get too many family commitments.

Yeah ! The 39's are one of my favorites. Really like the square headlights and the grill, and the raised bubble speedometer glass.

Very nice. Why does he have the wipers off?

Just a guess - they don't work and he doesn't drive in the rain. He bought the car about 5 years ago and has pretty much just driven it. The inside is all original - showing wear but presentable. He told me 39 was the first year with 3 on the tree.

Thats correct Dave and it was only on the deluxe models(which that one is). The cheaper model the roadking still had floor shift. You can distinguish them by the longer/shorter belt line stainless. Here's Dads old 39. Oh and for the observant which piece(s) of this 39 are still hanging around in our possesion?

So did they have vacuum or electric wipers with that top mount?
