claybill Posted June 25, 2010 Report Posted June 25, 2010 coming up a mile long hill at 50-60 the dual carbs are fuel starved and it begins to sputter and conk out from empty bowls.......i have an electronic fuel pump with a dash switch..when this happens i switch it on for a minute and it picks right up!!! sometimes anticipating this I click the electronic fuel pump on 1/2 way up a long hill. glad i have it!! also the mechanical pump might be losing its oomph! bill whats an oomph? Merle Coggins Posted June 25, 2010 Report Posted June 25, 2010 ...whats an oomph? It's a well known unit of measure that works equally on the Imperial and Metric scales. I believe you're on track with a weak fuel pump. Merle Quote
greg g Posted June 25, 2010 Report Posted June 25, 2010 Never have had a problem like that with mine. I would check the flow rate from the pump. 12 pulses of the pump into a container should give you 8 to 10 ounces of gas. Quote
claybill Posted June 25, 2010 Author Report Posted June 25, 2010 yeah...i think i'll swap out the mechanical pump with another. my other duaL SET-UP RUNS FINE.. BILL Quote
