Ryan Robbins Posted June 16, 2010 Report Posted June 16, 2010 For those of you who bought the Carter/Weber Carbs from Langdon Stovebolt, what did you use to connect a wire to the electric choke pole? I have looked for female end connectors that would be a snug fit, but haven't found anything yet. I know there are many guys out there with this setup and I've seen pics of their electric choke hooked up, but don't know what they are using. Thank you in advance. Ryan Quote
martybose Posted June 16, 2010 Report Posted June 16, 2010 Just find someplace that sells crimp-on bullet connectors; the female end works just fine. ... unless the carb spacing is like my Edmunds manifold, which is too close together so the front carb choke connector hits the back carb. I actually had to rotate the carbs on the adapters slightly by elongating the holes so that they cleared. Marty Quote
Ryan Robbins Posted June 18, 2010 Author Report Posted June 18, 2010 Marty, thanks for the tip. I've purchased a few and all the female ends seem to be the wrong size(too small usually). Did yours fit right on, or did you have to crimp it at all? I guess my search continues unless anyone has used anything else. Maybe I'll expand my search outside of my small town. Thanks. Quote
Young Ed Posted June 18, 2010 Report Posted June 18, 2010 Ryan bullet connectors come in a couple sizes of both the wire end and connection end. Found that out the hard way when matching up connections on my p15. Quote

I used the 10 gauge connector, the one that is color-coded yellow. Marty Quote
jd52cranbrook Posted June 19, 2010 Report Posted June 19, 2010 (edited) The gauge of the wire connector does not designate the size of the bullet connector. That's what you need to pay attention too. On the front carb you may find it helpful to take off the cover of the connector, so you can bend the connector 90 degrees so you will clear the rear carb. Edited June 19, 2010 by jd52cranbrook Quote
