I didn't know there was a booster that would fit the stock location? I would be interested to see that. as for vaccum you would need a port as large as the one on the booster itself, so is that the case with the wiper spot?

I put a 6" Midland on my 1 ton. Otherwise brakes are stock and work really nice. Easy pedal too and high.

Bob, et. al.;

I need to replace the booster on my truck this spring.  Losing fluid and nothing is leaking externally.  Where did you get your Midland brake booster?  Do you have a part number?  I see Vintage Power Wagons sell one.  I need to call them and see if it would fit / work.

Thanks for your help!

Brad, The loss of brake fluid could be due to an internal leak in the booster. I have the same midland frame mount booster on my 2-1/2 ton dump. It failed by sucking the brake fluid out of the master cylinder and did it fast! The small Midland one shown above is off a 1955-7 T-Bird.

Your Midland booster, 9-1/2" diaphram and a 7/8" bore can be rebuilt. "Booster Dewey" out of Porland Oregon. can do it as can maybe someone else.

has anyone taken apart  their booster for inspection or rebuilt? or is this best left to the "professionals"?

the shop manual shows an exploded view.............

As long as you can find the correct rebuild parts... and have a shop manual you can do it! There are no adjustments

Some mid 60's fords used a very similar booster.
