Merle Coggins Posted May 7, 2010 Report Posted May 7, 2010 If'n ur gonna do a buncha buffin', then ya otta get yerself one of these here buffin' pads with wear indicators. With these high quality microfiber polishing pads, you not only avoid creating swirl marks in your paint by using a worn out pad, they also save you money by indicating when they are worn out. Never throw away a pad with use left again! A special super-soft microfiber covers a plush foam interior, and absolutely positively will not create swirl marks for the lifetime of the product - guaranteed! They work on this unique principal: Within every pad, are a series of metal spikes. When the pad is worn out, the foam breaks down, then the metal spines penetrate the cloth, and leave a visual indication on your vehicle, so you know when it's time to replace the pad! Compatible with any common buffer, or can also be used by hand. From KaleCoAuto http://kalecoauto.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=4&products_id=42 Quote
55 Fargo Posted May 7, 2010 Report Posted May 7, 2010 You got a problem with macho wipe? I would think the prisons would have a lifetime supply of Sears & Roebuck catalogues.... Hey the Warden had the cheapest 1 ply tissue in his washroom, now thats what you call "mucho wiping".................LOL Cons, well that's another story...HEHEHE Quote
desoto1939 Posted May 7, 2010 Report Posted May 7, 2010 Very imfomative Rich, especially like the paritition for the bottom of the pail, so dirt will sit under it.I use old bath towels the fluffier the better. I have tried chamois, microfibre, and do not like them. For the majority of us, the AACA advice will not be heed, as most of are wash and wear type Guys, not more formal concourse de elegance types. Not to say you should not look after the paint jobs, that is for sure. My gravel road is 2 .5 miles to the pavement, so you know what is landing for dust on jmy car, just ask Pat S from Calgary, he rode in my car yesterday. So I sponge bath my car, and keep her feet clean after every ride. I will not be using such a detailed plan of clean up as the AACA recommends. One note, I still get the best clean on my windows by using white vinegar and water, and with old newspapers, streakless and clean.........Fred The information that I was supplying was how the professional car detailers go about detailing every car they get be it either an AACA car or just a regular car that comes to their shop for so detailing. Even if you have a driver and my 39 Desotois a driver and I do not show at Hershey I still try to use the best method to keep the car looking great and presentable. I do the same with my regular car when you consider the cost of our newer cars we have to make them last and this is the best way to keep the paint and exterior in good condition an appearance. I fully understand what you and the other guys were stating in your replys and if it works for you then that is the best method. Rich Hartung Quote

Rich Hartung Rich, hope I was not sounding critical about your info from the AACA, it is good stuff, very thorough and professional. If my car looked 1/4 as good as yours, I would be a happy man. In my case where I live, because of the long gravel ride to the Hwy, would not consider anything to high end, be it a resto classic, or a modern day vehicle, this road is just too rough on vehicles, and it is extemely difficult to keep them clean and dust free much of the time...........Fred Quote
