I want to change out all the bulbs in '48 p15 from #55 6 volt to #81 6 volt ,however, I have no reference for bulb numbers or locations since half the bulbs are missing.....if someone could help me I would really appreciate it ..................Thanks !

My references indicate that the #55 is a G-4 1/2 bulb with a miniature bayonet base. But the #81 is a G-6 bulb with a larger single contact bayonet base. I don't think you can put a #81 in where a #55 goes.

My full reference material on this is at home, but I don't recall finding a higher output 6v bulb that would replace the #55.

I think the #81 is a good replacement for the #63 (same glass bulb size and shape, same voltage but 6 candlepower rather than the #63's 3 candlepower).

Thanks for your input......I ordered a set of six #81 bulbs that are supposed to replace the 55's perfectly......I compared the sizes and they appear to be the same.......maybe I'll luck out...........Thanks again for your help
