55 Fargo Posted January 25, 2010 Report Posted January 25, 2010 Hi All, need to make a package tray for my 47 Chrysler Club Coupe. Was thinking of making a pattern, then cutting out either cardboard backerboard, or corroplast, then covering with 1/4 inch foam, and then vinyl or cloth. I know some of the members have purchased there package trays ready-made, does anyone know how much they are to buy....Thanx Fred Quote
Young Ed Posted January 25, 2010 Report Posted January 25, 2010 Fred I think when new they were plain just like the kick panels. Quote
Niel Hoback Posted January 25, 2010 Report Posted January 25, 2010 I think my original was a woven paper-like material. Very coarse. I replaced it with exactly what you described, cardboard, 1/4" foam and extra seat material. Stitch it down along the fold so it lays flat. Quote

Thats true Ed, as I had an old one around here that was from a sedan. I think I like the covered in cloth or vinyl approach, as I am not a purist, nor is my car. However, if the ready made ones are not too expensive, then maybe thats what she will get....Fred Quote
BobT-47P15 Posted January 26, 2010 Report Posted January 26, 2010 Fred, you should install a rear seat speaker in the tray and use one of these nifty speaker grilles....... Only $31.50 from Wirth's Custom Automotive. http://www.wirthscustomauto.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Store_Code=WCA&Product_Code=921001 Quote

Andydodge Posted January 26, 2010 Report Posted January 26, 2010 Best I've ever had was the Edgy Finned head, it was sent from Earl Edgerton in Ca. USA and took 4 days from sent to arrival here in country NSW, Australia.......and as it was trackable I was able to watch it leave L.A., fly across the pond, land in Sydney, get sent up to the country delivery centre, then arrive at my local post office and be delivered to me by about 10am in the morning.......its a small world.............andyd Quote
1940plymouth Posted January 26, 2010 Report Posted January 26, 2010 Also not being a purist, I used 1/4 inch luan, and covered it with vinyl for the package tray on my 1940 Business coupe Quote
