I am rebuilding my master brake cylinder. Should I use gasket sealer on the lid, it has a gasket that is in good shape. There wasn't a new gasket with the Master Cylinder kit I got. When I took it apart it seemed like there wasn't any, but I want to make sure it doesn't leak.

Do not seal the lid. MAke a thin paper gasket to help sealthe lid. ALso make sure the bolt that screws into the lid should have a small hole in it to help with reliaving the pressure in the MC.

Hi all, and thanks again. The paper gasket is in good shape, so i will use it and no sealer. The bolt that screws into the lid does indeed have a vent hole. I will check the boot, but it seems I do remember a hole in it as well. I will also adjust the free play.
