T120 Posted November 4, 2009 Report Posted November 4, 2009 I came across this magazine while looking through some second hand books. Good reading, lots of photographs of participants and their cars.Maybe some forum members were there? Calgary Skyline 1990 Quote
Young Ed Posted November 4, 2009 Report Posted November 4, 2009 I was 10 I didn't make it. First one I made it to was rapid city in 2000. Should have been in Iowa in 98 but dads car blew up so we spent the weekend swapping motors instead Quote
T120 Posted November 4, 2009 Author Report Posted November 4, 2009 Calgary has grown some since 1990.Maybe a good location for a future POC meet? The long distance award went to a Bill Brown from Illinois. Here's a view of the back cover of the magazine - with Calgary's Canada Olympic Park in the background. Furylee2 Posted November 4, 2009 Report Posted November 4, 2009 I was there with my 68 Fury. I think there were 10 or 12 members from the Prairie Region who made the trip. We planned a two week vacation, through the Black Hills, Yellowstone, and Glacier National Park. We still talk about that trip. Quote

The Barracuda above mine, as well as the 53 convertible at the bottom of the page before, were also fellow region members. The guy in the lower left picture (Best of Show Winners) on the second page, was also from Nebraska. I can see his 64 Fury (4th car from the right) in that long shot at the bottom of the last page. I remember we went to Edmonton to that big mall for a couple of days, then came back to Calgary for the meet. I think back then, it was the world’s largest mall. We also went out to Banff, and Lake Louise. Yup, it was a fun trip! Quote
Young Ed Posted November 5, 2009 Report Posted November 5, 2009 I saw a couple tall pines region names on the winners list. Both are still club members but I dont think either still have those cars Quote
