BobT-47P15 Posted February 2, 2007 Report Posted February 2, 2007 Nice Dodge tar spreader truck from my old home town of Aurora, MO. A former milk delivery truck...... Nice gasoline tanker...... A nifty cabover..... Vintage crew cab pickup...... Or this big boy....... Quote
Young Ed Posted February 2, 2007 Report Posted February 2, 2007 Bob those late 50s trucks could be housing first gen hemis. A 354 with 2 2bbls would be neat! Quote
BobT-47P15 Posted February 2, 2007 Author Report Posted February 2, 2007 Ya just need to come down sometime, Ed. Maybe a guided tour could be arranged. Or maybe a small group of old truck fans....... Lots to look at. Quote
Young Ed Posted February 2, 2007 Report Posted February 2, 2007 Wow Bob I just noticed that first big tanker you posted which is a 54 I believe only has a 6cyl badge on the front. That round rams head emblem between the 2 1/2s of the hood would be a V on a v8 truck. Quote
Merle Coggins Posted February 2, 2007 Report Posted February 2, 2007 Ed, I don't believe they began using V8's in the trucks until '57. Notice the second tanker, a '57-58 Power Giant model, has the "V" badge on the nose. Merle Quote
Merle Coggins Posted February 2, 2007 Report Posted February 2, 2007 Bob, do you know if any of these trucks might be available? I think Todd B might have an interest in the Cab-Over and, for some reason, I think that delivery truck is kind of interesting. Merle Quote
Young Ed Posted February 2, 2007 Report Posted February 2, 2007 I know the 54-56 trucks could have v8s. There is a 3/4 ton for sale down the street from me with a 270 poly v8 and a 4spd. Its pretty cheap if anyone is interested. Quote
Reg Evans Posted February 2, 2007 Report Posted February 2, 2007 Yeah....1954 was the first year for the truck V-8's. A 241 semi-hemi. I'll betcha that yellow and black truck has a hemi. Quote
BobT-47P15 Posted February 2, 2007 Author Report Posted February 2, 2007 Merle.....check your P M Quote
rearview Posted February 2, 2007 Report Posted February 2, 2007 That red cabover is just ugly enough to be cool Quote
