Bobacuda Posted September 22, 2009 Report Posted September 22, 2009 I have seen several postings where Chevy small block valves (1.60 & 1.50) were used as replacement valves in Rustyhope's and some other's flatheads. When I look at the Dodge shop manual, it shows the intake valve to be 1 17/32" (1.53) and the exhaust valves to be 1 13/32" (1.40). Am I misreading something, or is this correct? I am about to order parts for my 230 and I need to know before I buy something I can't use. Thanks. Quote

Don't have information for a 230 but I hear it is the same as the 218 except for the crank and rods and flywheel. For the P14 and P14 versions of the 218 the intake valve is Chrysler part 868886 which NAPA Online shows as "SEP V1086" from their "sealed power" line. The exhaust valve for those same applications is Chrysler part 954302 which NAPA Online shows as "SEP V1351" So if you can't find them at your Chevy dealer, try NAPA. Quote

From one who is against using a cookie cutter Chevy engine. That makes your engine a Chevpar. Now the secret is out of the closet. Whatever happened to keeping it all Mopar?:D Quote
