I think the brown color is due to the breakdown of the mirror on the reflector. As the silver sluffs off it exposes the tarnished copper under neath yielding the brown/black color. Brown may have been a manfacturer back in the day. Can;t imagin they put out much light in that condition or do they????

As you can see one of the headlights on my truck had the same 'tint' as your headlights and one didn't. That headlight on the left was original to the truck as it was stamped '1948' on the back of it. The reflection material is just deteriorated making it look brown.

The headlights on this truck were like yours. The blackened Bulls Eye light worked and the nice silvery one didn't.

I think it is actually Corcoran Brown Lamp Co. I know that company manufactured the fog lights for my '41 Plymouth. You might look a little closer on the other side of the lens to see the word "Corcoran" opposite the "Brown."

Here is a couple shots of the original Corcoran Brown headlamps on my Chrysler. Kj's truck probably has the original Corcoran Brown headlamps. His truck might be so early as to be before the "Bullseyes's came out in 1949. These headlamps kinda have a unique yellowish/orange cast beam! Both mine are near perfect. You can just barely read the Corcoran Brown in the 1st picture. All 1946-8 MoPars as far as I know came withe these as factory headlamps till 1948.
