BobT-47P15 Posted January 30, 2007 Report Posted January 30, 2007 In the first picture, seeing that ESSO oil can reminded me of the old bowling team sponsored by the company --- the Esso Bees. And in the last pic is one of the fancy 1954 Dodge full wheel covers....the one with the louvers around it. You don't see very many of those. Quote
Norm's Coupe Posted January 30, 2007 Report Posted January 30, 2007 Bob, Back in the 60's and 70's I use to only use ESSO gas & oil. Remember the old slogan; "PUT A TIGER IN YOUR TANK, BUY ESSO!"? Was in the 60's. They even had a stuffed Tiger give away to put on the package shelf of your car. Got them free with so many gallons of gas purchased. Had one of those. However, when the kids came along, gave it to them to play with so it's long gone. Quote
55 Fargo Posted January 30, 2007 Report Posted January 30, 2007 Things like that make great shelf ornaments in a garage, here is one such shelf in my garage, the esso antifreeze can was in the trunk of a 47 Chrys parts car I bought, it was all dented, I rounded it back out again and put it on my shelf. Young Ed Posted January 30, 2007 Report Posted January 30, 2007 Anyone need an unopened can of straight 30 non detergent? The cans are green but I forget what brand. I have a few of them laying around. Quote
Norm's Coupe Posted January 30, 2007 Report Posted January 30, 2007 Ed, I don't want a can. However, if they are solid green with white or cream colored lettering, they are probably Quaker State. Quote
RobertKB Posted January 31, 2007 Report Posted January 31, 2007 In Canada we still have Esso stations but I believe in the US they are called Exxon. Had bad luck with Esso gas years ago and haven't bought it since. Quote
