Come on now, Grumpier Don,

The ad sez 261 cid, and we all know them's 25-inch big blox. :D

Mopar never made a 261 CI flathead but the ones advertised are 361 cubes. It could possibly be one of these 12 port Mopar flatheads that went all the way to 413 cubes. And I believe they are longer than 25 inches.

They are HUGE. I had a 413 here, bought it sight unseen from a knowledgeable expert guy who said it was the big flathead, a 265. When it arrived it was big alright, about 3-4 feet long and weighed over 1200 lbs........if these are anything larger than a 265 they will not fit a pickup or anything smaller than a 2 ton truck.

My name is "B4Ya" because I'm into the BIG DODGE trucks. It's the truck code for the Dodge 4 ton with the 413. I have a Dodge truck with the 413 six in it and another with a 377 and a couple others with the 306 engines-all with factory installed twin carbs/dual exhaust @ 30" head lengths. These engines and the 281 and the 331 were only used in the 2-3/4 ton through the 4 ton dodge trucks and certain industrial applications. All 7 main bearing. They are quite rare to find-very low production#'s. "Kj's dodge" has a 1948 281ci. BIG block too.
