br0k3N18 Posted July 24, 2009 Report Posted July 24, 2009 im a ways off from needing it, but be nice to know where I can find it...Roberts makes some, but I see some people bashing on them, whats so bad about them, also, any other place that remakes the weatherstripping? Quote
Merle Coggins Posted July 24, 2009 Report Posted July 24, 2009 I got most of mine from Steele Rubber Products. https://secure.steelerubber.com/homeframes.html They probably have the best product that I know of, but you'll pay more for it. I got a couple of items from Roberts too. They're OK, but not always top quality. For some things it's just what you need and it'll work just fine. Like always, you get what you pay for. At least that's my opinion, Merle Quote
JJs 1948 Posted July 24, 2009 Report Posted July 24, 2009 Do I dare recomend a rubber part again? I will but without the part number. clestersauto.com has 48-53 Dodge Truck weather stripping and offers one part I see a many trucks missing. The lower door seal. Look them up online and their site is very easy to use. The lower door seal was the only thing I ordered and can say was a quality and good fitting part. They also have other rubber parts for the Pilot House Trucks. Check them out. Quote
Merle Coggins Posted July 24, 2009 Report Posted July 24, 2009 Yup, that's one piece that my truck is still missing. I was going to get some "D" shapped weatherstriping from the hardware store and stick it on, but I haven't got a round tuit yet. Now I think I'll try theirs. I also see that they list a "Body-To-Fender" seal. For $15 I might just order it too to see if it's the one for the front fenders and see how it looks compared to the one from Roberts. I thought I had them bookmarked but it must have disappeared. Now I have them again. Thanks Here's one Now I can do it. Quote
JJs 1948 Posted July 25, 2009 Report Posted July 25, 2009 On an earlier post I made a bad mistake on a part number for a good rubber fender filler part for our 48-53 Dodge Trucks. The correct part from dennis-carpenter.com is Ford Trucks 48-52 fender filler. Look them up online. My mistake was posting the 53-56 Ford fender filler. This filler works extremly well and is $15 plus shipping. I have sent payment to one forum member for my mistake and anyone else I caused a problem for, please let me know. DO NOT ORDER THE 53-56 Ford fender filler. Thanks, Jeff Quote

You (and the others here) are the kind of people that keep this world (and forum) a good place to hang out. Bud Quote
Guest Kuster13 Posted July 25, 2009 Report Posted July 25, 2009 I agree with Bud. I ordered that wrong fender filler based on the wrong part number. Jeff offered to pay for the mistake. I declined his offer because I felt just as responsible for the mistake. As a consumer it really is up to me to ensure what I am buying is what I want and need. I didn't do that. Jeff in my book is a stand up guy for his offer and willingness bare the brunt of this mistake. Even with the mishap of the wrong p/n I still appreciate the fact that Jeff shared his find with the forum. Tom Quote
JJs 1948 Posted July 26, 2009 Report Posted July 26, 2009 Thanks guys but I feel its the least I could do. I hope to meet some of you at a truck show someday. Terrible feeling when you dissapoint people, especially with all the help I've got from the forum and archives. I finished my truck about two weeks ago and one of the goals was posting photos on the forum. Camera is still in the bag but I'll get some posted when I get this fender filler situation resolved for peace of mind. Jeff Quote
