Rodney Bullock Posted July 8, 2009 Report Posted July 8, 2009 (edited) William Jackson, the first President of Old Cars Unlimited passed away today. He was my friend and teacher. I joined his club in 1999 after seeing them a outing in Maryland. He taught me about leadership and how to run a club the proper way. I became the third President of the club in 2006. It was because of the club I was able to do public service, movies, World of wheels and win some of the biggest car show awards of my collector life. The old man and I use to go on trips to vendors, junk yards and private collections all the time. We talked about everything including cars, if not for him I don't think I would have had any antiques as he loved original cars. When Don, chet, Greg and Jim where at the Sully car show last year Mr. Jackson came over and sat and talked with us for a while. He really enjoyed that day and often said that The club could not have me all to them selves when I had so much to give to the hobby. I will really miss him as he was more than just a friend he helped me realize my potential. He will live forever in my memory. I say good bye to my friend William Jackson. RobertKB Posted July 8, 2009 Report Posted July 8, 2009 Sorry to here of your friend and mentor dying. It is always hard to lose someone you know well. People live on in others' memories as I am sure he will in yours. Think of him often and all the good times you had together. Quote

Bingster Posted July 8, 2009 Report Posted July 8, 2009 I'll keep him in our prayers, Rodney. It is a shock when somebody close to you like that passes on. I had a couple of those kind of calls when two of the Pullman porters I mentioned to you died. I'd become close friends with them. Quote
