In my search for wiper rebuild kits for my truck I came across macs antique auto parts. They are a ford shop but the fords also used trico wipers(what didnt?) They have a rebuild kit listed for 1928-1940 fords and from the picture it looks the same but it only shows 1 per car. The wiper motors i'm trying to rebuild are 1 per wiper. Anyone know if this is the right kit? It does list some model #s but all I saw on my motors were a bunch of patend #s.

I think everyone used Trico wipers. I got the rebuild kit for the one in my 1933 Plymouth from the local antique Ford store. The only issue, which I caught at the counter before paying, is that the kits they had were Korean War surplus and the first package they brought out had broken open and was missing a part.

Pretty easy thing to repair if you have the kit.

If I recall correctly, there were two different sizes of Trico wiper motors. Apparently Plymouth used the same size as Ford.

I stumbled across your site for resurecting old motors Tod. I'm going to try that before I buy a kit. I did also find a source for just the cover gaskets too. I've got 1 wiper motor that works good for my drivers side but the pass side doesn't go. They both have a really sucky system for attaching the blade. So on the highway the wiper blows onto the roof. I've now got 3 that have a better system that I think it proper for my truck so time to get fixing. Any techniques for rebuilding them?

I don't recall any particularly note worthy thing about the rebuild. Open it up, put in the new parts, lubricate it, put it back together.
