Bob_Koch Posted June 19, 2009 Report Posted June 19, 2009 I'm still trying to get used to the look of this one. What do you think? http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Dodge-Other-Pickups-1-2-TON-1952-KUSTOM-CHOPPED-DODGE-TRUCK-FORD-GRILL-HOT-RAT-ROD_W0QQitemZ230350063332QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUS_Cars_Trucks?hash=item35a1ef06e4&_trksid=p4506.c0.m245&_trkparms=65%3A10%7C39%3A1%7C240%3A1308 Quote
OLD DODGE Posted June 19, 2009 Report Posted June 19, 2009 I think that poor truck has been vandalized. But thats just my opinion. I'm sure others like it. Quote
48Dodger Posted June 19, 2009 Report Posted June 19, 2009 I like it. Maybe you'd like it better Reg, if it was yellow? 48D Quote
buds truck Posted June 19, 2009 Report Posted June 19, 2009 Interesting grille choice, but not my cup of tea. The chop looks unfinished to me because the front windshield is much higher than the side windows. Looks out of proportion. I was wondering how the nose would look if it was welded to the fenders. Now i know. Quote
smallblockjunkie Posted June 20, 2009 Report Posted June 20, 2009 I do not like the welded fender look. You are right Bud the chop looks unfinished Quote
Reg Evans Posted June 20, 2009 Report Posted June 20, 2009 I like it. Maybe you'd like it better Reg, if it was yellow? 48D One a dees days Tim....pow....right in da bread box. Quote

48Dodger Posted June 20, 2009 Report Posted June 20, 2009 I was wondering how the nose would look if it was welded to the fenders. Now i know. Which means......? No welded fenders? The body work looks rough, and the paint uneven. Probably why he went with a satin finish. The description makes it sound like the body and paint is complete, but doesn't come off that way. Otherwise, the guy put a lot of work into it. If there was more chrome, or the color was, say...charcoal gray or silver....the grille would look better, looks cool, but looks like its floating. So if it was mine, I put more highlights in, like black floorboards, unfrench the lights, accent the front with a bumber and/or black out the inside area of the grille. .....someone did ask me, right? lol:D 48D Quote

I had planned on welding the fender to header seams up..... not any more. I had also planned on frenching the headlights.... not any more either. a good lesson in what not to do. Bud Quote
carl b51 Posted June 20, 2009 Report Posted June 20, 2009 I think Bud could fix it. What do you guys think ? Quote
Mario Loya B1B Posted June 22, 2009 Report Posted June 22, 2009 The truck doesn't do much for me, but I sure would like to see more photos of the camper behind it. Quote
Jim Gaspard Posted June 22, 2009 Report Posted June 22, 2009 I agree Mario. It appears to be a canned ham trailer from the fifties. I have a 15 foot ham I am restoring along with my B3B frame-off. They are from the same era. I should be complete somewhere around 2013 at my current pace. We are forecast to hit our first 100 degree day today, and with humidity in the 50' to 60's, it is unbearable even in the shade. Jim in Dallas Quote

Don Coatney Posted June 22, 2009 Report Posted June 22, 2009 (edited) The builder should have placed a third headlight in the center of the grill and made it turn with the steering wheel Tucker style. On the bright side one furd was killed while making this truck. Edited June 22, 2009 by Don Coatney Quote
