DonaldSmith
I found some $47.00 whitewalls at the local Bellle Tire outlet. (They are a big advertiser around here, and sponsor the Detroit Tigers TV coverage.) Four tires out the door, $279.24, five for 349.05. Funny, this is for P215/75R15s, but the 205s are $3.00 more per tire. The whitewalls are only about an inch wide, but for the price... Anybody hear of TireCo Milestar? Has anybody ground their whitewalls wider, like in the u-tube video?i (In the back of my mind are the horror stories about bent wheel centers, etc. I'll ask the tire place how familiar they are with old cars. But then the Woodward DreamCruise blasts right past their front door, and people are getting their cars ready for months before. I'll call.) greg g
Probably from the Chinese Embassy. Not saying thats bad but I might have a look at some other sources also. I got Uniroyal radials from Wall Mart for about the same price or a bit less (4 years ago) Wally world has that deal where they will warrenty at any store, probably a few more locations than Belle. And two years ago I put 225 75's onthe rear for a bit better cruising speed. they came from pep boyz on sale for about the same price. In the market for a pair of 235's for my truck. JIPJOBXX
You might just think about getting some used tires. I got some radials for 75 dollars. Got them at our local junk yard and they were still on the rigs that they came from. I had a chance to see them while they were still on the vehicle and took notice that they were almost new. So now I have them mounted on 15 rims and have a cool ride at not alot of money. Oh yes they are a standard American tire Firestone. Oh yes one more thing if you figure your only going to use your car on the weekend why go out and spend big bucks for something you only use once in awhile. BobT-47P15
I had some ground wider on a 67 Ford convertible back in the 70s or 80s.....they were in between narrow and wide whites. Not a real bad look, but just a little odd in the way the edge around them was after grinding. They did them while on the car. Just jacked it up and rolled out the little grinding machine. Don't recall the cost....would probably be more today. Not sure if I would have them done nowadays.
