Young Ed Posted May 10, 2009 Report Posted May 10, 2009 Yesterday I took off for my parents cabin with a buddy riding shotgun. Our mission was to liberate the front suspension off a 50 plymouth parts car. After about 6 hours we were back at my house with the parts. Now my plan was to swap the uprights and spindles onto my car to keep it rolling and then get the bushings pressed into my original spindles. However according to the good folks at hollander and Dads 46-54 master parts book the spindles aren't the same between a 46-48 and a 1950. So my car will be laid up for a day or two while the machine shop fits my king pin bushings into my spindles. Quote
Don Coatney Posted May 10, 2009 Report Posted May 10, 2009 Is it still snowing in Minnapolis? I am on my second sunburn forehead (actually my forehead is not located where it used to be) burn here in the south. But not to worry as the rain and wind down here blow off the dried skin and the stink all in one puff:cool: Quote
Young Ed Posted May 10, 2009 Author Report Posted May 10, 2009 Its not snowing but it could be warmer. I did all my car work yesterday and today with a hooded sweatshirt on. (Sadly my forehead has grown quite a bit too.) Quote

Young Ed Posted May 11, 2009 Author Report Posted May 11, 2009 Ed, what is the difference between the 46-48 and the 50 parts?.....are those 2 uprights/spindles/knuckles off the same car as they look the same to me in the pic.............andyd The uprights are the same 41-50. Those are a pair off a 50 plymouth. I was going to temporarily install the spindles and used kingpins off the 50 also but since they are different I'm just going to leave my car apart for a day or two. Now anyone know what the actual difference is between the 46-48 spindle and the 49-50 one? Quote
