Aaron Posted April 24, 2009 Report Posted April 24, 2009 I have attached a picture of the fitting that my heater hose connects too that goes into the top of my old waterpump. I have put a new waterpump on and need to replace this fitting. I don't think the one pictured is orginal, but who knows. Can anyone post a picture of what you all are using or what will work well. I have been into about 10 different places to see if I can find something suitable to use in it's place and they all tell me they having nothing. Aaron Quote
TodFitch Posted April 24, 2009 Report Posted April 24, 2009 You should be able to find something like this at your local automobile supply store: http://www.sfxperformance.com/parts/SPT5953.htm or http://shop.oreillyauto.com/ProductDetail.aspx?MfrCode=DOR&MfrPartNumber=56356&CategoryCode=3056B There might be a right angle version of this but a quick web search did not turn it up. If a 90 degree sweep version is not available then a nipple and an elbow from your local hardware/plumbing supply would get you angled the right way for the hose connector to work. Quote
Don Coatney Posted April 24, 2009 Report Posted April 24, 2009 Try McMaster Carr. They should have one. Pictured is what I use. Quote
Aaron Posted April 25, 2009 Author Report Posted April 25, 2009 I have struck out at several auto parts stores and farm supply stores. Nothing even close except for the elbow and pipe idea. I was hoping to find something in one piece. Checking McMaster Carr right now... Quote
bkahler Posted April 25, 2009 Report Posted April 25, 2009 The elbow appears to be the original one as supplied with the heater kits. My 51 B3B had the same thing in it. I managed to salvage mine and reused it on the new motor. Brad Quote
DanOlson Posted April 26, 2009 Report Posted April 26, 2009 My 53 B4C has the same fitting. I'm not sure, but the end that connects to the hose looks finer than pipe thread. Dan Quote
