greg g
Reg did you take that pic or is it a previously posted shot. That tape measure looks suspiciously familiar as does the wheel.........
Reg Evans
One of you guys posted this last year or sent it to me directly. Was it you Greg?

Don St Peter
I'm looking for someone to do the wheel stripes for my 40 Ply. Your comment about "buying some stripes" for your wheels leads me to believe there are some decals ( or the like ) out there for purchase. Is this true? Thanks Don
greg g
Probably why it looks familiar, but I don't have it in any of my pic folders any more.
Allan Faust
I've seen stripes like that at Canadian Tire, and you could probably get them at any store that sells car stuff..... The tape actually comes like that (or at worst, 2 tapes (large stripe, small stripes) like in this ebay auction Allan
oldmopar
Its been a while but I remember reading a article about making the stripes using a basic pin striping tool like JCW seels for about $10.00 but I do not remeber how the pin striper was set up to make the line correctly. It may have been at the plymouth club forum. Maybe someone else remember how it was set up Ed
vanbuskirk
by a local detail shop. Phone estimate = "about $200" Claims to have done stripes for Indy 500 Museum. Bob
vanbuskirk
Does anyone have an image of Gold Bronze pinstripes. I remember it as a subdued color of gold. Thanks in advance. Bob
bob westphal
I have used the pin striping tool with the little wheel and glass bottle to stripe a few sets of wheels on various cars. There is a guide wire fastened to the tool. Just put the guide near what ever is handy to the work area and move the tool along. When I did the wheels, I mounted an old water pump with it's pully on a saw horse. I set the wheel hole over the pump pulley, held the tool steady and rotated the wheel until the stipe ends met. The tool comes with different width wheels to make various width lines. I also used it to put stripes down the belt lines of the body and any other place that I thought would look good with an accent stripe. Looks like a pro did it! Reg Evans
Sounds good Bob. Any photos available. Any tricks in thinning the paint just right? What kind of paint did you use?
Jim Yergin
Bob, Did you use any kind of special paint for the pinstripe? Jim Yergin
greg g
some folks report that signs painters stuff works very well, thin as needed with mineral spiits
Brad Lustig
Heck, for that matter, you might take your wheels to a sign painter. Probably do a pretty good job and probably pretty cheap.
bob westphal
Reg & Jim, I don't have any photos that I can get to post on the forum. They are a tif instead of a gif. I used paint I bought at the local hardware store in the smallest can I could find. It's just enamel paint which is a must because you can wipe it off before it dries, if you screw up. Sign painters paint is what most pin stripers use. Bob
