My window rubbers on my cab windws are all still original. They are fine and I have no leaks or problems, but both rear corner window rubbers are split badly on the lower outboard corners - right where you see it when you walk up to the truck.

My question is this - do any of you know of a way to repair these cracked rubber areas that doesn't stand out as badly as the crack? I have thought of black silicone rubber, but that stuff dries pretty shiny.

Any better ideas from the intelligencia?:)

Some day I'll replace all those old window rubbers, but for now, I'd just like to get some road time in with the old girl . . . . . .:)

GB I didn't do this on my Dodge yet, but I did try this on my Ford Louisville-and for the same reason-road time and shakedown. My windshield gasket was badly cracked in spots. I masked off the edges, and used some of the urethane seam sealer (the black stuff that comes in a tube) that Eastwook sells. I filled in the cracks, made things look a lot better, and made the gasket watertight again. The important part is to mask where you don't want it to go, and wear disposable glove as this stuff sticks really good once it starts to set. It dries to a semi gloss type finish-may be one of those temporary to permanent repairs. Mike

In the movie "THE WORLDS FASTEST INDIAN" Burt Monro used shinola to mask the cracks in his high speed tires.

Little OT.... but I loved that movie.
