Sorry, just had to brag a little. My 16 y/o son has been making big strides lately in my shop. As most of you know I restore muscle cars on the side as well as race Street Stocks (1972 Charger). Zac has learned a ton this year. He's been using the plasma cutter, practicing on the Tig welder at home as well as taking welding classes in High School. We've been working on his 1972 Roadrunner in between working on my 1950 Pilothouse. He's spent a lot of after school hours on that truck. He really loves doing it all. After school yesterday, he got to "shoot paint" for the first time. And of course it was on his favorite car. Papa couldn't have been prouder. lol. He's a 3.8 student, polite, wants to join the Air Force to be an Aeronautical Engineer, and hopes to meet a F-22 up close. Out of all the cars and trucks I've done, I consider him, my biggest contirbution to the world of Hot Rods.

Great To See Another "young Gun" Coming Out Of The Wood Work. For Years My Son Wanted Nothing To Do With My Shop Stuff, I Used To Restore Cars On The Side, One Day He Just Came Down To Hang Out And He Just Never Left. He Wanted To Be A Chef, He Ended Up Being A Bodyman (and A Darn Good One Too). He Still Owns My Dads 69 Cadillac. Bud

Good story-there's the future of the hobby! Having good kids is a blessing-I've got 4 and I'm proud of every one of them. Mike

Thanks for the kind words guys. Its been fun reading your posts. My son and I have always had fun together, and of course I'm guilty of dragging him under just about every project I've worked on since I taught him his first word "varooom". I think I found myself in a sentimental moment the other day, when I realized Zac could handle power tools on his own. You know, doesn't need the "old man" to watch his every move. lol. Then I realized...he'll graduate in little over a year......

Foolish you. When are you going to graduate???????????? Foolish me.. When am I going to graduate?????????????

Never I hope, as a graduate knows everything there is to know, and I hope to never be there.

48D you are a proud papa. I'm guessing he is a proud son.

Question: My son turned 7 yesterday. Do you think he is ready for a plasma cutter? ;)

Sure! long as it says "for 3 and over" on the box.....lol
