48Dodger Posted February 10, 2009 Report Posted February 10, 2009 Looking for a driver side door for my 47 DODGE truck. Its far from a "driver" as you can see, just need to see two dang doors on it. lol. Hope to find one local.....but you never know what deals can be struck ~48D (Thx for shipping yours to England Reg! ) Quote
austinsailor Posted February 10, 2009 Report Posted February 10, 2009 You really need to sign up on the 39 to 47 Dodge truck group. You'll most likely find a door there, and a lot of help. The truck I see in the picture is a Dodge. Is there a reason you're saying Plymouth? ( I figured out where local is - I noticed your location is in the upper right hand corner?) http://autos.groups.yahoo.com/group/39-47Dodge/ Quote
48Dodger Posted February 10, 2009 Author Report Posted February 10, 2009 In the back of my mind I keep thinking of Ed's plymouth and I keep screwing up the make......it is a Dodge! Geez, Ed. Already in the yahoo club...haven't heard from anyone local yet. Thx. 48D Quote
Young Ed Posted February 10, 2009 Report Posted February 10, 2009 This what you are looking for? Quote
48Dodger Posted February 10, 2009 Author Report Posted February 10, 2009 Well yeah.....if it's a spare and you're not planning on using it. Wonder what Fedex would charge? Tell you what, If you bring it by, I promise to join the POC and cast my vote for "Young Ed"! 48D Quote
Young Ed Posted February 10, 2009 Report Posted February 10, 2009 Sorry those are Plymouth doors and you need a dodge door Quote
48Dodger Posted February 10, 2009 Author Report Posted February 10, 2009 Come on....how different are they really? I'm a 48-53 dodge guy, so I might believe anything. Or are you so Plymofied, that you can stand to see it on a Dodge? lol. 48-53D Quote
Young Ed Posted February 10, 2009 Report Posted February 10, 2009 They aren't different at all. Those dark green doors are actually off a dodge. The 3rd door is off a 40 plymouth. Come on now I've got almost as many dodges as plymouths Quote
48Dodger Posted February 10, 2009 Author Report Posted February 10, 2009 Man, I knew you were messing with me. Just wanted to hear you fess up. lol. So, since their the same, can I use a passenger side Plymouth door on the driver side of my Dodge? Thanks for taking my call, I'll take my answer off the air. lol 48D Quote
Young Ed Posted February 10, 2009 Report Posted February 10, 2009 nope can't switch side to side nice try. but any 1940-47 truck door will work for you. 39s have different latches so they are unique. Also later powerwagons still used the same door too Quote
Reg Evans Posted February 10, 2009 Report Posted February 10, 2009 Tim, I'm going to list this truck kit on eBay eventually. Any interest in the whole thing ? Reg Quote
Young Ed Posted February 10, 2009 Report Posted February 10, 2009 Reg he'll still be short one door! Quote
Reg Evans Posted February 10, 2009 Report Posted February 10, 2009 Yes Ed.............or he'd have 1.95 trucks. Quote
48Dodger Posted February 11, 2009 Author Report Posted February 11, 2009 Hmmmm.....looks good to me for a parts truck. What's the asking price? Does the external fuel pump option come with it? 48D Quote
Young Ed Posted February 11, 2009 Report Posted February 11, 2009 Depending on which size truck you want to end up with you could use the doorless one for parts too. Quote

What's the asking price?Does the external fuel pump option come with it? 48D Yes it does...and so does the external engine. Hey Tim...I just remembered that about a year ago I sold a 47 1/2 ton frame to an a guy that I built a house for. Attached to the frame was a good cab with doors. He was suppose to call me when he removed the cab so I could go pick it up. I'll give him a call. Quote

We have a few inches of snow here right now and more to come tomorrow maybe. His house is located up a very steep and long road. Quote
