JIPJOBXX Posted February 5, 2009 Report Posted February 5, 2009 I think I have the only two hub cap rings in the world that are like this. They came as an extra on the 42 Dodges but were only made of light steel and corroded fast. As you can see there are holes and pits on them. I plan on repairing these two rings as best as I can and use them on my old Dodge for show. I really love to have extra accessories on my blackout. By the way douse anyone here have a set of these? They are only held on by the hub cap itself no clips. Anyway got to finish them oft and will take pictures of them when I have done my restoration. Jon Quote
Frank Elder Posted February 5, 2009 Report Posted February 5, 2009 Here's the rascal that has the other two, of the only set in the world...lol. Pic originally posted by Bob. Quote
oldmopar Posted February 5, 2009 Report Posted February 5, 2009 Not sure if any vendor has them they do show up at swap meets and ebay from time to time. But you do need to know the measurements 16 or 15 and hubcap size to be sure you get the correct ones. Quote
JIPJOBXX Posted February 5, 2009 Author Report Posted February 5, 2009 Your wrong check out the picture and compare! Mine the hub cap area is much smaller. And before I cleaned them up the inner part was black with a red strip dividing the two colors. Quote
Reg Evans Posted February 6, 2009 Report Posted February 6, 2009 Here's the other type that isn't held onto the wheel by the hub cap. These let some of the wheel color show between the ring and the hub cap. These were on my 40 Plymouth when I got it. The Plymouth doesn't live here any more but these rings do. Quote
JIPJOBXX Posted February 7, 2009 Author Report Posted February 7, 2009 Can you see the difference between the ones on the bottom and the one in my picture? The center opening is much larger on the bottom set. No big deal Quote
Frank Elder Posted February 7, 2009 Report Posted February 7, 2009 Of course it isn't, my eye just isn't as good as yours evidently, with the hubcap on I can't tell the difference.... I'll take your word for it. Quote
