John Burke Posted January 15, 2009 Report Posted January 15, 2009 Here is my (new) defroster fan mounted and ready to keep my windows clear....I got the fan in a lopsided deal with Don Coatney....I used a 12/6 voltage reducer for fan motors that I got at speedway and mounted it under the dash..It's not hot ( active) unless the ignition is on. I also put a new 12 volt receptical in, where the ciggaret lighter was, so I can recharge the cell phone when i am on the road....things are looking good.....jb Quote
Jim Yergin Posted January 15, 2009 Report Posted January 15, 2009 Looks good John. I bet I can be certain that you did not get the fuzzy dice from Don. Jim Yergin Quote
blueskies Posted January 15, 2009 Report Posted January 15, 2009 Gads.... holes drilled in that nice dash?! Doesn't your car have defroster ducts? Mine work as well as any car, no need for accessory fans... Pete Quote
Don Coatney Posted January 15, 2009 Report Posted January 15, 2009 John; Good to see the fan mounted and in service. What is lopsided about this deal? You and I have traded parts, fun, friendship, laughter, and information for several years. I dont need nor want your first boy son. We are square! Well.......... maybe I want to drive your racer at Bonniville and send me pictures of your daughter:cool: Quote
Johnny S Posted January 15, 2009 Report Posted January 15, 2009 John are your fuzzy dice 6 volts or 12 volts? Quote

Pete Well, the thing is, when I put the SBC in the old gal, all of that stuff went out the door and I put an aftermarket heat/air combo in it...could'nt get the defrost hooked up so hence the vintage fan....yes I drilled holes in that original dash...nothing is sacred anymore i guess...jb Quote
Normspeed Posted January 16, 2009 Report Posted January 16, 2009 Sure, it's all fun until someone sticks their fingers in the fan. Quote
Grandadeo Posted January 16, 2009 Report Posted January 16, 2009 Or the S...omething hits the fan. Lee Quote
Frank Elder Posted January 17, 2009 Report Posted January 17, 2009 As long as it is evenly distributed.....the fan won't overload! Quote
greg g Posted January 17, 2009 Report Posted January 17, 2009 The one I have has rubber blades. It was the rear window defroster in my dads 54 Dodge. He was a guy ahead of his time. In the summer I used it to blow super heated air from above the package shelf onto my kid brother's neck. Quote
moparjack44 Posted January 17, 2009 Report Posted January 17, 2009 I bought one at Auto Zone for the DeSoto. It plugs into lighter, is two speed, and has a screen so if the s... hits the fan, it will be evenly distributed:p . Jack Quote
