And I believe if you look around you could find some actual snowblowers powered by flat 6 industrial engines. Probably for airport duty. Rumor has it that they sent one to Germany. They went over for finish assembly and it snowed 3 feet so everyone hopped in it and went out to throw some snow. They were plowing through some massive drifts when they heard a nasty metalic sound. By the time they shut it down and look in front of the blades they found about 1/3 of a VW bug left!!! Allen I. Posted December 16, 2008 Report Share Posted December 16, 2008 There was one on ebay a few years ago that was from an Air Force base. I stumbled across it in a search on "flathead." It was a big 6x6 (engine not remembered) with a flat bed on it. Mounted on the flat bed was a 230 that was used solely to power the snow blower mounted on the front. I think a small car would fit in the apparatus. The description said it cleared Air Force runways. I'd hate to be in the path of a rock kicked out by that sucker.
