I think you pull the chrome covers off the pushbuttons, and there is a

round wheel under there on the shaft.....that is used to fine tune each

setting. Or something like that.......

I believe there is also some fine tuning item on either the side or rear of

the housing, maybe turned by use of a small screwdriver.

Depends on if that is the cheap or more deluxe radio. The cheaper one you just pull the buttons out to set. This one the dial moves when you push a button. The deluxe one has individual tuners for each button. These are like Bob described where you turn a dial under each button to tune the radio. These do not move the dial when you push a preset button.

Is the 604 the cheaper radio with only 5 buttons, as opposed to the other

which has 7 buttons??? I can't recall offhand the two model numbers.

yes it has 5 buttons, I guess 1400 is 14 on the dial ? If there is any signal it should be easy to adjust, what if it is just static, do I adjust to make the static sound better ?

...I have the original brochure for both the 602 and 802 radios. Process for tuning would be the same for all the 600 - 800 models. I believe if you run a search for tuning mopar 802, you will find a website that has the brochure online. If you don't find it, let me know and I'll dig around for it.

It doesn't have to be directly on the 14 find the CLOSEST station either before or after the 14, if there is not one directly on it, and tune it in using the set screw with your antenna Fully extended.

Chances are that your tuning dial is no longer that accurate after 60+ years, may have been knocked around some, accident in car or banged around on the bench when not in use. Good hunting, Frankie.
