b2b and b2c compatibility

does anyone know how much if any parts you can switch out with a b2b and b2c. or if you can switch parts from different years? also what is a good resource to find b2c parts? thanks for any help. gabe.

Gabe, I do not profess to be an expert. Many of the members I am sure will know much more about this subject than I do. A B-2-B should be a year model 1950 and have much in common with the B-1-B 1947 and 1948 year models. 1951 - 1953 was a cab style change but the bed and some other body panels should interchange. I am not as up on mechanicals such as engine and drive train but it would not surprise me to find out that many of these parts will cross as well. C series trucks are a 3/4 ton version of a B series truck and as such many of the parts are the same. As far as resources for parts,

the reason i am trying to find out is because i am getting a b2c and a guy is giving me a b3b (or b4b), he isn't sure which is which, to part out. so i really don't want to mess with this b3b parts truck if a lot of the parts won't work on the b2c. thank you again. gabe.

I echo vintrader as not an expert, but alot of the the cosmetic's change between the B2 and B3,and definitely the B4s, the front grilles are completely different, gauge clusters are different, I can;t remember if the doors are the same. Drive train is luckily very similar even between trucks, cars and industrial engines. So I guess it depends on what parts you are looking for.

As Dutch said, the B1's ('48 & '49) are nearly fully interchangable with your B2 ('50). Even between 1/2 and 3/4 ton trucks there are many interchangable parts. The only major differences are a longer wheel base, smaller rims, larger front brakes, and heavier springs on the 3/4 ton.

The B3's ('51 & '52) have a different nose and hood, and the dash is different. Other than that I believe everything else would be interchangable. The B4 ('53) had a minor change with the bed and rear fenders, but otherwise they are the same as the B2's.

I highly reccommend this book.

I believe that the only sheetmetal that is interchangable between the B-1, B- 2's and the B-3, B-4's are the front fenders, and the beds and rear fenders (rear fenders are the same from B-1 through B-3 only. B-4, 1953's, changed from the "cycle" fenders to the "bubble" style).

Front panels, doors, cabs (interiors), and hoods all changed just enough that they don't fit quite right.

I like the 49 plymouth front bumper on that b2. I've got a set of those I hope to use on my 40 plymouth pickup project. Is that your truck?

No, but I love that Cream colour with the polished stainless trim. I'm not sure who's truck it is. I found the picture somewhere, and kept it in my collection. I have tons of pictures.
