Joe Flanagan Posted December 23, 2006 Report Posted December 23, 2006 Well, I'm at that point. Looking for an R-10 transmission with overdrive. I'd like to get one I can rebuild myself. I checked Idaho Transmission Warehouse and a place in Portland, OR called Transmission Exchange or something like that. No luck with either of them. If anyone knows where one of these can be had, I'd appreciate hearing about it. I'm willing to remove it myself if it comes to that. In the meantime, I'm keeping the faith. Work continues, in spite of darkness and bad weather: Quote
randroid Posted December 23, 2006 Report Posted December 23, 2006 Joe, I bought mine in perfect working condition ten years ago from Neil Riddle in Seattle. As I recall, it cost around $450, including shipping and all the extra goodies you need to make it work. Neil has always been a pleasurable person with whom to deal and I'll buy from him first anytime I need something I can't get locally. Last I heard he doesn't have a web site; hell, last I heard he doesn't accept credit cards, but I deal in a cash business, too, and won't question his motives. Give him a call, he'll give you a price, and when your check clears he'll ship your goodies. (206) 285-6534. -Randy Quote
Jerry Roberts Posted December 23, 2006 Report Posted December 23, 2006 I have also purchased stuff from Neil and can vouch for him . He does take Pay Pal too . Quote
Joe Flanagan Posted December 23, 2006 Author Report Posted December 23, 2006 Thanks guys. I've bought stuff from Neil before. I'll give him a call after the holidays. Quote
Young Ed Posted December 23, 2006 Report Posted December 23, 2006 Check your junkyards. Got this one last summer. That's me under a 52 pulling the OD. Quote
40phil41 Posted December 23, 2006 Report Posted December 23, 2006 In talking to George Asche this week I know that he rebuilt and sold four of them this year. Might be worth giving him a call. His number is on the main P15-D24 site. Phil Quote
Guest mikeys toy Posted December 23, 2006 Report Posted December 23, 2006 I got one in my '54 Savoy. It was working when the car was parked back in the '70s Quote
Joe Flanagan Posted December 23, 2006 Author Report Posted December 23, 2006 Mikey, Are you interested in getting rid of it? Quote
Guest mikeys toy Posted December 23, 2006 Report Posted December 23, 2006 I might, I was going to put it in the '53, but I am 12v neg ground and I don't think the solinoids and relays will work plus I have to get it out of the car and find shipping for it. Only fed ex and ups come out here so it's spotty I was thinking $250 for all the assosiated parts as-is but shipping may be a bitch. If I have to; I can drive down to okc to put it on a Greyhound, but you'd have to pay for the gas. I'm not working now so I have all the time in the world Quote
