  1. Very likely. I've made it as far as the LA River which is about 15 miles short of Torrance. Two possible issues though, 1) The tool is DeathBound's and although I am sure he has no issue with it I'll PM him before I commit if that's OK. 2) The other issue is that if we actually meet somewhere, I'll probably drool all over your truck. Let's set up a time where we can all have a breakfast or something.
  2. You must be living the good life. Nice score.
  3. 1/2 ton on mine has the carter 1bb downdraft. Should be a tag on the side or at least a stamping to define it. Tons of threads here about them http://p15-d24.com/topic/38296-1950-b-1-carburetor-id/?hl=carter Got a rebuild kit for myself which was simple enough to do. Very happy. Recommend.
  4. Love my truck but you sure put a picture to the problem. No one else knows how a 60 truck stops so it gets pretty tricky sometimes.
  5. Nothing better than building an old farm truck with your daughter! Congrats to the two of you.
  6. Running Firestones plus I removed four leafs out of the back knowing I wasn't going to really haul anything. Still debating going to all 15" rims because it is so hard to get the price down on the 16" tire on 5" wide rims. 750-16 and 640-15
  7. "Interested"? of course we are. We all suffer from the same disease here ...
  8. Color me green!
  9. Never got mine working either. Always empty. I did go through to validate the gauge first, then ran a new wire and validated the gauge again. Just can't make that thing work. Got three of them like that. Missing something fundamental or they break way too easy. The alternate plan I use now is a log book of my last fuel fill-up marked with the odometer reading at that time.
  10. Definitely not a Polar bear. Very nice, 2 1/2 foot?
  11. If you buy a third truck, two won't seem so bad.
  12. Did it for the right rear because I only had left-side parts and wheels fall off otherwise. You don't wanna know how I know. Drilled and pressed the closest fitting standard stud in then a little safety tack weld on the inside for piece of mind.
  13. Polar bear in a snowstorm right?
  14. I got my lugs from Roberts. For removing the rear, you better have a puller. Anything else and you are more likely to separate the axle hub and drum. Even then, when it let's loose its like a gun going off. They really are on there.
  15. Nothing better than and old truck ...

  17. I found a gas tank that didn't have holes in it and had a new mount fabbed. Didn't ask where it came from. Did have to re-route the filler neck. Check that and the access hole under the driver seat is still usable for getting at the tank gauge.
  18. Hey Paul, how does the bearing assembly at the top of the steering look? I've heard they dry up and can make the whole system sticky. I know you've said yours drives well so I am curious.
  19. 48Dodger posted some pretty good videos on the front clip (for a pickup) if that is what you are after. https://www.youtube.com/user/194853DodgeTrucks/videos
  20. What a gorgeous panel van.
  21. I'm stumped. Thought it might have been a Chebby but the rear center window doesn't fit that theory. Might be a COE? http://www.carpictures.com/photos/max/14HR400020878335/Dodge-Deluxe-5-Window-Cab-Restoration-Project-1953#
  22. 'Cuz they are all in Minnesota at Mark's place ...
  23. Well, I had some help last year http://p15-d24.com/topic/35860-3rd-annual-international-work-on-your-truck-day/?p=367453
  24. I'll state Autolite 306 just to stay on topic, But I really wanted to say how much I lover learning something new every day on this site. http://speedtracktales.com/about/
