  1. Same as the one in my 51 Regent.
  2. Thank Ed, couldn't remember Powerflite for the 2 spds.
  3. Yes, there is probably nothing too serious wrong with it. Maybe just needs tinkering and adjusting by someone who knows manual transmission's and clutch adjustment's.
  4. 727/904's are Torqueflite's,Loadflite's if from a truck. I can't recall if the late 50's flathead's had the 2 spd auto's or if they were V8 only. Scarce in any case I would think. Slant 6 is all by it's lonesome self.
  5. There is no direct boltup. Someone on here does offer an adaptor for a Torqueflite, maybe they will jump in with more info. It would require the 12V swap for the starter.
  6. Please tell me it's not a Mopar.
  7. If it is connected properly it will work fine.
  8. Right on the money Greg.
  9. Kinda liked it untill I saw the Generals droppings.
  10. It's been my experience with external electric fuel pumps that if they are not used regularly they will fail.
  11. Not my tip. I was trying to quote a single paragraph from a previous post rather than the whole post and it came out looking like it was all my post. BobT-47P15 made the original post.
  12. Well that is pretty vague.
  13. The key I'm using for the ignition is actually a later model Pentastar style key (on left). They seem to fit and have the other needed design features to work. Good to know these blanks will work on our cars.
  14. Originals work just fine for me.
  15. Now that is just harsh Don
  16. That would be my guess as well,it even has military tires on it.Not that they couldn't have been added for one reason or another. Nice unit.
  17. Fine piece of work.
  18. Working under the dash of these cars is a joke compared to anything from about 1970 onward.
  19. Haven't heard that in years.
  20. When you're runnin' Chevy stuff under the hood, what difference does it make if the mirror is right or wrong? Not trying to start an arguement, just curious.
  21. Don't throw it away, they don't make that stuff anymore.
  22. Good stuff, simple and makes perfect sense.
  23. Just a little heads up here. I replaced a timing belt on a Hyundia and noticed the crank seal was seeping oil, when installing the new seal it kind of just pushed in rather than having to drive it in. Carefully removed seal and talked to the parts store, they recomended Loctite seal and sleeve retainer. Read the instructions on the container and installed the seal, timing belt and covers etc. Let it sit overnight, started it next morning and backed it out. Before I got the shop door closed there was a puddle of oil under the engine. Took it apart again, the seal was out and the Loctite had not set up. Called the parts store and asked why it did not set up,they checked with Loctite and got back to me with this information which was NOT on the container. There is a 24 hour cure time in which heat must be applied. Assembled again following these instructions and hung an incandesant trouble light against the seal area overnight and finished assembly the next day. It worked this tme. Did not make much money on that job.
  24. Like Merle said, you should be able to exceed 50mph easily. I would be looking for transmission problems, sounds like it is slipping to me. Have you checked the fluid level? Must be hot, idling in neutral. Good looking truck.
