  1. Not questioning your or anyone else's ability, and yes it is your car and you can do what you want. Working on a project with your father is great, I'm happy for you. The point was if chevy stuff is so much better, why don't people build chevy's and leave mopars alone. My opinion. Just like beating a dead horse I guess.
  2. Excellent advice all around.
  3. Here I go again. I don't understand this. If you want to run Chevy stuff, why don't you build a Chevy?
  4. Never owned a Studebaker, always wanted one, maybe someday. An oldtime mechanic here says they were way ahead of thier time.
  5. Sorry, can't help you there.
  6. As far as I know they have been the same for years. I've got 70's truck wheels on my 51 parts car, a buddy has 70's Rally wheels from a Challenger on his 36 Plym.
  7. What claybill said.
  8. When I started reading this thread I knew someone would post this. I break down every time I read it. I've lost a good dog or two in my time. I feel for you Don.
  9. Courteous drivers are rare today. Glad to hear there are still some around.
  10. Me too.
  11. The absolutly best way I've found to bleed brakes is by the gravity method, but that doesn't work very good, if at all on these cars due to the MC location. I've used the vacuum method as well and always had to bleed manually to finish in order to get a good firm pedal. One stroke of the brake pedal and then open the bleeder works better than pumping 6 or 8 times.
  12. I'd try the nail trick before I'd change the MC.
  13. Old school MC test. Remove the lines from the MC, insert small nail into lines, head must cover hole. Reconnect lines lightly to MC. Hard pedal, good MC. Soft or fading pedal, bad MC.
  14. He should be comfortably retired by now, but we sure do need him.
  15. Little bit okay. Too much no good.
  16. Thing is though, there are hack's in this trade as well as any other so be carefull who you deal with.
  17. That is one nice Coronet. 80/81 Cordoba wheels?
  18. These are the forerunner of the Mopar 8 3/4 axle and are similar in appearance to the Ford 9". A castleated[sp?] nut and cotter pin at each outer end of the axle will tell you that it belongs in your truck.
  19. Mopars and Harley's. If God made anything better He kept it for Himself.
  20. Correct me if I'm wrong but I think if they were wired in series it would reduce the voltage more not up the current capacity. Wiring in parallel would increase current capacity yes?
  21. Blast it with water from a Windex bottle when cherry red and it will free right up. When I removed the grille from the 51 to straighten and clean it I heated and cooled every bolt and screw, every one came out like they were put in yesterday. Works on brake bleeders too.
  22. Funny, just about everyone has non Mopars as their best car. Why are you all Mopar nuts?
  23. 90 Plymouth Voyager 3L Mitsubishi,OD trans. Bought from original owner at 150,000 KM. Wife drove it to aprox. 350,000 KM, I drove it as a beater to well over 400,000 KM. Never touched drive train, just brakes, tires etc. Rust finally killed it.
  24. 68 Buick Lesabre. First, last, and only GM I will ever own.
  25. Wouldn't mind tippin' a Moosehead or 10 with you someday. My kind of music.
