  2. My heater core started leaking coolant this morning pretty bad. Are there replacements available for a 52 cranbrook? Is it possible for a shop to repair it, anyone messed with this. It shiw coolant around the fins and was leaking out the box and not sure why.

  4. Great idea, didn't even think of the bolts on the wall at Lowe's lol. Thanks that should work.
  5. hey everyone I have a question, on my 52 cranbrook I'm looking to replace the shifter knob. does anyone know the specs as the threads and diameter. thanks. the 1952 company has some bad ass ones and trying to figure what size I would need, thanks in advance.
  6. I love mine and serves many purposes that are beneficial. Mine is solid and never has moved even at 70 MPH, and my 52' looks good I think with it on.
  7. I have a Fulton and can check when I get home if you need.
  8. Also wheels in question I like are the fr500 in mate black. Some others as well. Also have GPS operated speedo from speed hut and is bad ass. Also working on frame reinforcement and swapped out shocks for coilovers.
  9. Hmm thanks Guy, I wasn't referring so much to tires but wheels. Seen some wheels I like may just have to see if some local wheel places can help out for next spring. Thanks guys.
  10. Where did you get your rebuild kit thinking of doing mine also was it difficult, have instructions online one could follow.
  11. so it looks like I have 15x7 on her now as I picked up another plymouth a few weeks to test the waters for fun. trying to see what is the largest I can stuff under it for a 52 plymouth cranbrook I picked up few weeks ago. I cant take measurements for **** and was hoping someone new what the max I can go with the stock system that is on it now IE brakes ect. would 17x10 in rear be way to big with stock equip. anyone gone to atleast a 16x8? seeing what others have done with good results, the idea is to see what is the widest in a sense I can go as she is being built as a track car for fun with low budget, thanks guys.
  12. Hmmm well I'm looking to see what the "beefiest" size is that I could go as to call it lol. This wheel set up I speak of is for mustangs from like 2002 area. Any car makes that I could search off of or suggestions wheel sizes I could go with as a start for searching.
  13. Some of the wheel specs are 17x9 +24 offset front and 17x10.5 +27 off set rear, I have some other specs for the wheels if needed, if width was to much could wheel spacers help. Anyone know of a modern car I could go off during wheel searches that would work the same as most don't have my car listed, thanks again.
  14. I will get the specs of the wheels I like and see what people think, woul a 17 work or go no bigger than 16 inch wheels not sure if they came in 16 the ones I liked.
  15. Looking at new wheels for my second plymouth and wondered what is the largest positive/negative offset I can go with on a 52 two door cranbrook with drums all four corners, found some wheels with a decent lip that are staggered and hoping to see if they would fit thanks guys. Haven't been having luck looking this info up as I know the wheels I like are a bit larger than stock like 8 inches wide in the rear also so hoping knows the max specs allowable I could go.
  16. Sweet got the new 6v positive ground alternator in.
  17. OK I found a downloadable file from pertronix(not on thier site) that has every single Dist. made in match of there kits part numbers, I just downloaded the file to my phone to make it easy. So this morning I'm going to hang myself upside down in the engine bay from the ceiling if I have to lol to get this number WITHOUT having to pull the distributor out. looks like I may get it from under the car aft facing forward.
  18. good job on getting new U-bolts, many people re-use them and don't realize the potenial dangers.
  19. also a four way link with a boxed in frame of the differential helped tremendously.
  20. why not get coilovers, with the correct measurements you will know where to mount them in a custom location for proper suspension travel and as long as it's not to low you won't have to notch the frame, it's easy and JEGS has lots of options that work/worked well, they have even brakets that can be bolted up from the coilover to the frame or you can weld it, It made sense for me to get something I knew would ride like a dream, let the car sit where I want with the travel I want without the restrictions of hoping stock suspension doesn't bottom out or hit the frame, and you will have easy adjustable ride height with the coilovers.
  21. thanks, yea I know where it's located on the distributor just can't see it well enough, might have to flash a light on it and snap a phone pic see how that works lol. It would probably benifit if the distributors all that where offered where on a list with the part number to pertronix making it easy for people to see it here.
  22. I read this on here but it says up to 1950 so I'm not really sure is this would work for something made after that year, but I did go ahead and looked this part number up and came up with this link but like I said don't know if it would work on a 52' as well? ok copy and paste not working but I did come up with this. 2563LSP6 from pertronix but doesn't say what years it works with and on here says up to 1950, are the distributors so different from 1950 to 1952 it can't be used?
  23. Perhaps you guys would know what would be the factory Distributor numbers for the flathead 6 218?
  24. are you speaking of the number on the stamp plate of the distributor or are you saying simply make and model of car as well year and they should beable to pull it up, was hoping someone here knew the part number needed from pertronix. Oh here is an attachment of how my engine will look when finished for the most part.
