  1. I wish I could change the u joints to the more modern type but don't know what I have to do in order to do this. Where do you get the different drive shaft and yoaks for the transmittion and the rear end? Is this something that can be done fairly easy. I have no idea but the newer ones look like they would be more easy to change if you need to. I am open for any suggestions on this matter.
  2. The car has had this vibration in it since I got it about 3 months ago. I will check what you all have told me to check. The car has radirol tires on it except for the spare tire. It is a bias tire that I think came on the car before the guy I got it from changed the tires on the car. I will climb under the car and check for play in the drive shaft. I don't know a lot about the car except it is a nice car. I know I have to adjust the breaks on it because the break pedal goes to far down when applied. If there is no change in the vibration when shifted into neutral going down the road I have been told it would be the u joints. Thanks for the information so far and look forward to more feedback from the forum. Larry Brauer
  3. I have a 1948 Plymouth Special Deluxe Coupe that has a vibration in it when driving down the road. At slow speeds you can't tell it but when you get up to around 45 mph you can tell it and the faster you go the more it gets. Anyone have any ideas on what it might be. I have heard that it could be the u joints but before I spend $190 dollars on them I would like some feed back from the forum people in what you all think it could be. I have had the tires ballanced and they are fine except one on the back right has a little bent rim but it isn't bad. Was told by the ballance people that wouuldn't cause the problem I am having. Thanks, Larry Brauer
  4. I had my F 250 crew cab deisel stole from my work in 2003. It was gone for 10 days before they found it near Larado Tx filled with illigals from Mexico. In the ten days they had it they put over 11,000 miles on the truck. It was striped out except for the front drivers seat. When the border patrol caught them there was 26 people in the truck. Of course they didn't catch the driver. I had to drive down there to pick it up and it took over 6 months for the dealership to get it fixed. There is nothing more depleting than when something of yours gets stolen by a theif and then your insurance has to pay for getting it fixed.
  5. I think they are the P67 type. I have not taken them out as of yet but just from looking under the car they look like that type. Thanks for the information and the vendor where I can still get these. Larry brauer
  6. Anybody know where I can find the u Joints for a 1948 Plymouth Special Deluxe Coupe car with a 230ci engine in it. I have a vibration in it going down the road from 30 MPH to 60 MPH so I'm thinking that is what the problem is. Thanks for the information and feedback, Larry Brauer:confused:
  7. Anybody know where I can get new U-Joints for a 48 Plymouth Special Deluxe Coupe? I have a vibration and everybody tells me it is the Joints going bad. Thanks for the information, Larry Brauer braular@yahoo.com
