  1. Hey Don, Looks like the grandkids snuck out for a burger when you weren't looking....
  2. Guys, The February issue of Classic & Sports Car Magazine includes a full-page feature about the Rhythm Riot festival, which I organise in the UK. Bryan Webb is pictured, with his P15 coupe. I've attached a small copy of the page - email me if you'd like a bigger (legible) version. Happy New Year to you all. Robin.
  3. Hey Allan, Nice Calendar. I missed the initial thread as I was on vacation. Delighted to see my car is Miss November!!! Thanks. Happy New Year. Robin.
  4. Hi 49DodgeBoy, I got a pair of repop steel skirts from Agape Autos www.SkirtsAndVisors.com I'm very happy with them. Might be worth contacting them about skirts for your car. Good luck. Robin.
  5. Guys, Hoping you all have a very Merry Christmas and a healthy and happy New Year. It's a pleasure being in your company, in cyberspace. With sincere best wishes from England. Robin.
  6. Wow! Some heavy impacts there. This poor P15 was in a fatal collision.
  7. ...and here are the other three pages of the article.
  8. If anyone's interested, here's a link to a trailer for the film. A great story... movies.nytimes.com/movie/175585/Red-Hot/trailers
  9. Hey Guys, Look at this... a feature in a weekly magazine from Latvia, called "Privata Dzive" (Private Life). The journalist came to our Rhythm Riot festival and the four page article leads with a picture of my Plymouth - or maybe a picture of two attractive women, posing next to my Plymouth?!! Hope you like it. Robin. By the way, Pits (Pete) Anderson, from Latvia, came to play at the festival, with his band. He formed the first rock'n'roll band in the old Soviet Union, during the days when the music was banned by the government. His life story is the inspiration for the 1993 film, Red Hot, starring Donald Sutherland. Pete was the original rebel WITH a cause!!!
  10. I'm always reluctant to post details of auctions before they end, as I wouldn't want to pull the carpet out from under someone else. However, I figure if you're going to bid on this one, you won't be too bothered by the bidding competition from anyone on this Forum. Here's one of my all-time dream cars, for sale by RM Auctions... www.rmauctions.com/FeatureCars.cfm?SaleCode=AZ08&CarID=r103 What a beauty! I'd love to have that in my garage.
  11. Hey Bob, I could use a hood release inner and outer cable, if you're planning to sell any parts from your spare dash. Thanks. Robin.
  12. Hi Guys, Does anyone have experience of replacing the wiring loom in their car? If so, which suppliers would you recommend for a ready made-up loom? Thanks. Robin.
  13. Bob, I've been watching the bidding on that Fire Extinguisher. Not to buy it - just to see the end price. In the meantime, another has been listed, with a Buy It Now price of $1450 - that one has the original bracket. Picture attached.
  14. Guys, I think it's time to try to solve the slow leak from the back of my motor. What's your experience of fitting a 2-piece neoprene seal without removing the motor? Am I likely to fix the leak, or set up a whole other problem by dislodging what's currently in place? Would be nice to know how it has worked for others. Also, where's the best place to get the seal? Thanks. Robin.
  15. Thanks Lou, That's great. I'll begin my search. R.
  16. Hi Guys I have been working through the hot starting problem on my Plymouth. It looks like it must be a problem with heat sink into worn copper windings, as everything else appears to be OK. If I'm going to replace the starter motor, are all P15/D24 motors interchangeable? What about other years? My problem is that I have a 47 car with a 51 Dodge engine, so I need to make sure I get a part that will fit. Thanks for any advice you can give. Robin.
  17. Browsing MySpace, I found pictures of this D24 Convertible, in England. I'm going to try to track it down. Will report back if I get any news.
  18. Guys, I've got a slight problem with my car and I'm wondering if any of you have come up agaist this before? Occasionally, when the engine's hot, it won't turn over very easily - it's just like the battery's gone flat. Let it cool and everything's OK again. Most of the time it's no trouble because I'll be parked up for a while. But when I go to get gas, it can be a real problem!!! Has anyone got any ideas? Thanks. Robin.
  19. Harold, When I'm on the Forum I do my best to fit in with you guys. I try to use Americanised English spelling and American terminology for parts, etc. Not always easy, but I think it's polite. Also, if I start talking about things like 'bonnet' (hood), 'quarterlight' (vent window), overriders (bumper guards), etc, you'd think I was crazy. Then again, you'd probably be right!!!
  20. That looks neat. Sometimes the artists go a bit over the top with the striping. He's got it just about right, and really used the stripes to highlight shapes and add character. Great job!
  21. Guys, My son (7-year old Henry) was determined to get his picture in his favorite comic book - The Beano. He came up with the idea of taking his picture with the Plymouth and sending it to the club page... and it worked!!! Here's a clipping from today's issue.
  22. The greenish blue looks great. Your 3rd and 4th mock-ups get my vote. Here's a color-adjusted picture. Robin.
  23. Guys, Some friends of mine were recently looking for their first american car and considering an early 50s Chevy. Their search slowed down, on the birth of their duaghter, so I thought it'd be some time before they started looking again. Yesterday, I got an email with the attached pictures. Their 'new' car is a 1950 Dodge. I can't wait to see it. I've told them about the Forum, so I hope they'll post a profile and message, soon. One more Mopar flathead in the UK, and I have another friend planning to buy a 1950 Plymouth fastback from Lou. Looks like we'll soon have to start our own club!!!
  24. Hi Jim, We don't sell clothes, but my wife and I have been collecting and wearing vintage for many years. We get it from specialist dealers, markets and, increasingly, from Ebay. There's a video clip on our website which shows a very small part of my wife's collection (also includes some footage with the P15 Coupe we used to own). It's at www.RockTheJoint.com/robincolette (click the video clip on the right). There's a web-based company called RustyZipper.com - their website is laid out a bit like a department store, so it's an easy way to look for something you'd like. Hope you don't catch the vintage bug too bad - it can get quite expensive!!! Good luck. Robin.
  25. There is a small picture of my wife and me, with our P15 ragtop, on Page 140 of the November issue of Classic & Sports Car Magazine. The photo was taken at The Goodwood Revival. The write-up isn't quite accurate, but it's still nice to see my car in the mag.
