  1. Joe, I believe that the rod is simply "bowed" in the middle towards the rear of the car. John
  2. Looks really nice Joe .... really nice !!!!
  3. Joe, here are the ones I have on hand at the moment. Rear seat of a P18 Club Coupe.
  4. I've been in JoAnne's Fabrics here locally many times diggin' through their materials looking for a good match. I suspect I looked like a small "bear" in there trying to dig out a cave to hibernate in I bet!!! The original "wool" costs a LOT more if you can even find it anymore. I think you've found a really nice substitute that has great wear resistance if their numbers are even close.
  5. Joe, are you planning to reuse the burgundy leather(ette) trim or use a replacement or leave it off ???
  6. Thanks Joe ... good luck.
  7. Joe, I found the site. What pattern are you using and how many yards did you end up getting ?? John
  8. Yes, what you are seeing is the Roman numeral character for the number one (1) in the serial number. In the example I posted there are two places where that Roman numeral is used. But, if you look at my second attachment it shows the Vehicle Number assignments by model year and location .... NONE of them have a Roman Numeral in them ..... but you can decode the Vehicle Number on a P15, P17, P18, P19 or P20 by using that chart to determine place of origin. Good luck ....
  9. That use of the "I" in place of the "1" has caused a lot of title confusion .... it should be recorded as a "1" ... not as an "I" ..... I had similar issues when I had a local law enforcement officer review the VIN on one of my cars being re-titled in Colorado.
  10. Here's a link to a data sheet that will help .... the "I" was used on the plate in place of a "1" as I see it. And like Young Ed reports above. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v144/49plymouthclubcoupe/1949_Plymouth_vin_numbers_locations_zpse43e7087.jpg John
  11. Here's an example from my files where you can see the "I" being used as a Body ID number ..... will this type of information satisfy their need? The Body ID number on the plate appears to be I236I883 but is actually 12361883. You can check the list in the other link to confirm that's within the appropriate series (P17 or P18) or in the case of this example ... P20 out of Detriot. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v144/49plymouthclubcoupe/1949plymouth475_zpsbf6ae3c8.jpg
  12. As I re-look at it ... I think you are correct. I just don't have one of the cars right here with me at the moment to confirm .... those are the best views I could find.
  13. Joe, here's a look at a couple more. From the photo they appear to have a small dash like piece as a cover there. John
  14. Joe ... the brake-light housing and front turn signal housings did. Belt line moulding and stainless trim on doors and body did not. Side script for the model type .... E.g. "Special Deluxe" ... did not. I'd have to look at the tail-light housings but the tail-lights themselves did not. Stainless headlight rings didn't but the base housing to fender attachment did. Nothing for the grille. Nothing for the bumper. The splash guards ... rock guards ... between the bumper and body had some rubber bumpers but on the flat surface ... not on the surface tied to the body which was metal on metal in all of them that I've seen. The hood medallion housing ..... that one I'm not sure. Don't recall one there but it would seem like a good place to have one. John
  15. Also found a Philco Radio Forum ..... http://philcoradio.com/phorum/index.php .... the 807 was used in the '50 Dodge too ... so I think my 803 schematic covers it. I sent a copy to Alshere59 to post. I'm still learning the new format.
  16. It's 1.15 megs .... too big to attach.
  17. I've got a copy of the radio manual ... need to figure out how to post it on this site.
  18. Very good .... I like the look .... I need to roam a little more to get the feel.
  19. Hey Randy .... Happy Birthday from the "north" .... hope Pigiron's garage stays secure with the winter coming on. Did you take any hits from the "fall" of tree branches in the area last couple snows?
  20. Well done Rodney .... and Joe .... soundin' good.
  21. And $18 is WAY too much .... but at least this year I found a real Mopar bargain at the swap meet .... scored a pair of P18 fender skirts for a true "I don't know what these are and want to get rid of them" price.
  22. Mongo LIKE Funnel Cake ...... Mongo NOT FIND Randroid at Funnel Cake .... Randroid out gawking at nice cars and pretty scenery ..... Mongo eat Funnel Cake all up.
  23. Randy .... if the fishing in Wyoming works out as planned I'll be out to the Ranch Sunday AM before everyone leaves. Of course .... that could be as early as late Saturday if we get back into town sooner than expected. I'll look you up if all pieces fit as planned.
  24. Bob, so thankful to hear that you all weren't injured in this horrible deal. I still haven't been able to make contact with another longtime friend of mine in Joplin .... such a disaster humbles us all and reminds us of the thin edge we really live on. Prayers to you, your family and all of those impacted by this disaster. Also glad to hear that the convert made it through the mess without irreparable damage.
