so... last saturday night my car stated to over heat ... pulled it over ... let it cool down.. limped it home afterwards nver had a cooling problem until now the radiator had a leak... also figured it was clogged ... original 66 years old top hose hot ... bottom hose cool .... ordered a new one from Champion radiator .. Installed it this afternoon .... SAME DANG THING !!!!! pulled water pump off like new inside .... thermostat had to open because upper hose hot ... not pulling from the radiator ??? who has Ideas?????

my 53 was doing the same thing ... turned out to be the power wire to the brake light switch ... grounding against the frame

my 53 is doing the same thing... and I just ordered a new light switch from bernbaum ... I guess ill order a high beam switch too

I'm thinking about switching out my rear axle ... and using a axle from Cherokee to get a higher ration and upgrade my rear brakes currently I Have a 3.90 in the original axle Cherokee's give me the choice of 3.07 and 3.55 with the 3.90 gear ... I calculate 2100 rpm gets me 45 mph with a 28 inch tall tire and the engine sounds like it likes this RPM with 3.55 gears I'll get 50 mph with 3.07 gears I'll get 57 2500 rpm will get me 68 mph with the 3.07 which gets me on the interstate do 230 engines make enough power to hold the speed ?

I found a OD trans out of a 1950 plymouth ... but did I read correctly my 1963 coronet bell housing is larger because because dodge used a longer input shaft if you did nt order the fluid drive ?

The 53 Coronet I recently purchased comes with a ton a spare parts that I will probably never need ... Murphy's Law would be I will need them a month after I sell or give them away ... I've looked on the sale board on here and there isn't much on it ... things sell that quick or ??? advice needed I have front and rear bumpers ,hood,decklid,axle, front suspension, dash.... all too large / heavy to ship easily
