sam knopik Posted July 23, 2008 Report Posted July 23, 2008 I've read the Tips Page and have double checked that I do indeed have 13 nuts (12 nuts and 1 bolt)... I've been aplying more than gentle perssuation but I can barely even get a wiggle from the thing. I do not want to damage anything but I'm fixing to get really physical with this thing. What I have done so far is to work a puty knife around the bolts as far as I can, banged around a little bit with a rubber mallet, and pryed just a bit against the engine block (not very hard)... Any ideas? Thanks, Sam Quote
Don Coatney Posted July 23, 2008 Report Posted July 23, 2008 Check again. Picture is upside down but 11 nuts and 2 bolts.. Quote
Young Ed Posted July 23, 2008 Report Posted July 23, 2008 The idea is 13 fastners. Some have all studs. Some have 2 bolts and the rest studs. Quote
MBF Posted July 24, 2008 Report Posted July 24, 2008 If its running- I'd warm it up and then hit each nut with your favorite penetrant (you may have to do this a couple of times). Patience is probably going to be your best tool. If they're real bad-a heat wrench may be in order. When you do get it apart-I'd make sure to use neverseize on all the threaded fasteners, and brass nuts so the next time around it will be a piece of cake. Quote
