Evidently been lying on its side for several years. What problems would

that create???? Has P25 stamped on the block. Had been in a 40

or 41 Plymouth before removal.

Has a 1940 style starter with floor pedal actuation.

Could simply replace with later model starter I suppose.

Bell housing still attached.

Bob, that engine could be just fine, for a rebuild candidate or maybe there isn't very many miles on her to begin with or possibly it was rebuilt, she may be a good engine especially if it sat inside for years, has a 6 blade fan too.

Another example of a an old car owner, that won't sell the car, but in 10 years it may very well be sitting in the same spot untouched.

Not being critical of this car owner, but so many well intentioned people never get a "Roundtuit", to get anything started, let alone a job completed.

Lets face it, a lot of times, these cars require an astronomical amount of time, and cash to complete..............Fred

It occurs to me that trying to sit that engine up on the pan, by myself,

is a bit of a trick. Guess I need a helper or at least my floor jack.

I tried to raise it up.....it's heavy.

It turned about a quarter turn of the crankshaft pulley before stopping,

presumably due to compression. I would like to take out the plugs and

turn it some more. Would just be a bit more convenient if motor was

sitting upright. I think it also has a split manifold on the underside

where I can't see. I believe the carb is missing too.

Some Plymouth pieces.....1938 or 39???

Those are 39 Bob. 38 has a waterfall grill. The 39 should also have square headlights. 1 year only as 40 was the intro of sealed beams
