Retiring and relocating soon and need to sell my p11. Have a potential local buyer but no cash yet. If that falls thru, what is a fair price if I list it on ebay? Body has surface rust and a couple of minor dents but nothing major. The floor pans are shot. So are the seats. I rebuilt the starter and generator. The engine will turn using the starter but I have no spark. No time left to find out why... probably something simple. New plugs, wires, cap.rotor, condenser installed.Grill should clean up nice. Plus a lot of extra parts too numerous to mention here. Good set of 15" radials on it and all four original rims and hub caps. Can anyone suggest a fair price????? Thanks, Woody

fair price is tough to suggest to anyone..condition condition condition is the overall determining factor..followed by location. Some areas these are in more demand. The extend of rust is your biggest price killer..by that I mean the floor pans, rockers and trunk. Surface rust is not as crutical but overall is a pain in the but killing and converting. To get a fair price may require a search for like vehicle on both Craiglist and E-bay.. to get a posssible price here will get you a cross section of answers and most are going to be reserved to the fact of the buyers perspective to want to buy low and maybe a likely car in their area...posting a few pictures will go far..

Knowing up front the amount of work and non-op car will bring prices closer to the bottom I am afraid..be prepared for buyer wanting a running/driving car..plus you did not mention the body style...4 dr..2 dr...or coupe..

Woody, I have no idea how much money you have invested between the

car and any parts purchased for it over time. If you have that figure, it

might be a starting place for an asking price. The cheaper you can sell it,

the sooner it might depart. I just sold my 54 Plymouth, for less than $900,

and figured I pretty much broke even. It was not running.....the motor was

stuck, and the body had surface rust. A little rust damage to floors, but

not bad.

Woody,

I'm a little puzzled. If you are retiring, you should have more time to tinker with the car. Even if it never gets going, its still a hobby just to tinker with it. I would keep it unless you are relocating to an apartment or condo with no room to work on it.

Norm..sometimes when people retire they tend to move to a new location..taking the car in in-op status may be a killer...others sometimes retire into a community that does not have support for these larger space taking hobbies. Whatever his reason sure hate to see someone give up his old car. Luck to him in his sale and retirement.

Thanks guys, The reason I am not taking it is that I also have a 1950 DeSoto that does run. It is 500 miles from here to where I am moving. I can only haul one car on the back of the U-haul. I also have my Crown Vic to take there too. I would really like to keep it but I don't know how to get it there without spending more than it is worth. And, I will only have a one car garage. At this point I can't justify the expense of moving it. I will take pictures tomorrow and post some and see if anyone thinks I can get $800 for it on the bay. I just hate to pay their darn fees. Thanks, Woody

Judging by your photos and the on-line collector car price guides that I can find. I'd ask $1000 on Craig's List and take the first $800 cash offer. If selling on eBay, start bidding at $500. There's a lot of work to be done on that car, esp. w/ the rotted out floor boards. I don't think any one local would give you more than a couple hundred bucks. It is def. more work than I would want to take on.

Hard to say what to ask but would not take less the $500. Scrap is going about $250 a ton and that has to weigh close to 4000 lbs. Not that I would want to see it scraped.

Looks like just surface rust on the fenders. Floors and rockers aren't hard to replace if someone wanted to. That said, $800 doesn't sound bad for a mostly complete parts car. If you had the time to part it out yourself, just the front fenders would be worth around $300 to $400, if just surface rust and they are straight. Of course, it all comes down to how fast you need to get rid of it.
