Guest jonpywell Posted April 30, 2008 Report Posted April 30, 2008 Hello all. I'm in need of coil springs for my 1951 cranbrook. Curious what other years will work and whether anyone has experience swapping coils out of a more modern car. Quote
Young Ed Posted April 30, 2008 Report Posted April 30, 2008 Why not just buy new ones. Search for ESPO springs and things. Quote

I wonder if those of you who want to get that 'low' look should look into this option. If 55 Ford springs work in the Dodge, then 90 Aerostar springs should also work. (I don't know if this applies to the P15-D24 or only the older pre-war cars. Spring info is below.) http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=260795&showall=1 Details on the part: Moog PN CC850 Fit 1990 and other year Ford Aerostar (3.0 or 4.0 engine) They are $65 at O'Reilly and $52.79 plus shipping at Rockauto.com. Guest jonpywell Posted May 1, 2008 Report Posted May 1, 2008 I ordered the ESPO springs today. lookign forward to putting them on this or next weekend. I'll post pics when I'm done, right now the car is a bit ofa basket case. It's a rat rod in the works. ON a sepparate note any thoughts on dual carb setups? I looked at the one Pete of 50plymouth.com is useing but am also considering the setup from George Asche (hope I got his name right). I'm running Georges dual exhaust manifold and am happy with his work so far. Plus he's just such a grewat guy always willing to entertain my idiotic questions. Quote
martybose Posted May 2, 2008 Report Posted May 2, 2008 An Edmunds alloy manifold has more sex appeal, but I suspect that the Asche setup probably works as well. Marty Quote
