Frank Blackstone Posted December 9, 2006 Report Posted December 9, 2006 If this is old news to you I'm glad you have been warned. If this is new news know that this is a alien country and you will be billed at an inflated rate by that countries phone service. Be advised, Frank Quote
Guest Dave Claussen Posted December 9, 2006 Report Posted December 9, 2006 Frank, the 809 area code scam is actually a legitimate one that is not used that often. If any of the readers here on the forum ever get something in your email inbox that warns of dire consequenses or sounds just plain fishy, the best place to check it out for the real truth is the website called Snopes. The web address is www.snopes.com The folks there are up on all the latest scams etc. circulating out there in internet land. It's also an interesting site to just browse if you're bored. I find lots of the scares and so forth to be just a bunch o' lies dreamed up by people who obviously have nothing better to do all day. Quote

JerseyHarold Posted December 10, 2006 Report Posted December 10, 2006 For what it's worth, if I'm returning a call to an unknown number, I hit *67 before I dial. That blocks my number from the recipient. Quote
