DanOlson Posted April 4, 2008 Report Posted April 4, 2008 Does it make any sense why a 6V WW motor connected to 12V with a Runtz resistor would have no torque? I mean to the point of not moving the wipers without assistance. The only thing I can think of is possibly a bad ground. It bench checks fine as far as I can tell. I can't hold the arms form moving. Merle Coggins Posted April 4, 2008 Report Posted April 4, 2008 What's your voltage going into the motor? It's possible that your resistor is dropping the voltage more than 6 volts. Quote
DanOlson Posted April 4, 2008 Author Report Posted April 4, 2008 It's 9 volts with the motor running. I'm not going to put too much effort into it right now because I'm about to rewire the truck and we'll see if the condidtion still exists after. Quote
martybose Posted April 5, 2008 Report Posted April 5, 2008 I certainly could be wrong, but I didn't think the Runtz units were meant to be used with motors, just lights and instruments. They might not be able to support the initial amperage draw to get the motor started. Marty Quote
DanOlson Posted April 5, 2008 Author Report Posted April 5, 2008 Oops, my mistake. I'm using the 02415HR wirewound resistor from fifthaveinternetgarage.com for the motor, not the Runtz. Quote
Jerry Roberts Posted April 5, 2008 Report Posted April 5, 2008 Run another wire to a good ground for a fast test . Quote
