Normspeed
Anyone interested in teardrop trailers, if you're in the area, next weekend is a large get together at Lake Perris in Riverside County. Thanks to Mr. Belvedere for pointing this one out to me. I hear Saturday is the best day to walk around and check out the rigs. http://www.teardroptours.com/PerrisInfo2.html Not sure if I'll make it, if I do it will be for Saturday. Furylee2
Sounds like fun. But I’m leaving Tuesday for “Mopars on the Strip” in Vegas. Lee

Dennis Hemingway
Rich, Here is the web site for Mopars at the Strip, it is held out at the Strip at Las Vegas Motor Speedway. We will not be able to make the show this year, but I'll try to contact you on my next trip to Vegas. Our son and his family lives in Vegas and he works out at the Speedway. Furylee2
Wow, great looking setup Lee. Thanks, I like your setup as well. I really like those little wagons. Next I need to get a hitch installed on my 41 coupe, so I can pull the teardrop with it as well. Rich, the show is at the track (see all the details on the WEB site). The host hotel in the Cannery, although we're staying at the Super 8 near the Air Force base. I'm riding out with a buddy in his 70 Coronet convertible. We are leaving in the morning so we can make Phoenix by Wednesday night. He wants to roll in the that group from the MoPower cruise. So we are going 450 miles out of our way just to meet up with them. http://www.moparsatthestrip.com/2007/mopower_cruse.shtml

Furylee2
Sorry Rich, I didn't get back to the Forum before I left for Vegas. But as we left early Sunday morning to head back to Nebraska, I wouldn't have been able to meet up with you. Maybe next time. Lee
Don Coatney
When and where is the show to be ( I know vegas but what hotel).I live in henderson and would love to see some members and a nice car show. thanks Rich If I read this right the teardrop festival is held at a Sin City Hotel? Does the hotel rent parking spaces, showers, and crappers? Or do the trailer pullers actually eat, sleep, shower, and sh (well you know what I am talking about) in them there trailers? That is a tear-jerker.
Dennis Hemingway
Don, The teardrop get together at Lake Perris in Riverside County, California. The MOPARS at the Strip was at the Las Vegas Motor Speadway, Drag Strip in Lost Wages, Nevada. They were two different get togeathers on the same weekend. claybill
i had a tubing frame bent and welded up as a skeleton for my new teardrop project. nice curves etc...very cool...just pick it up and lay it on your axle. soon i will skin the frame with aluminum sheets and foam the inside and finish off the inside....but first i have to buy a 110 mig welder. looking at a lincoln at menards..anything better? bill aka claybill
Guest 48 Dodge Coupe
Hi, I went to that gathering back in 2000. They had 110 teardrops. Great weekend! Great trailers, and the bonus is all the great cars. The reason I have my 48 Dodge is to tow my latest teardrop project, a rebuild of a 1936 Uni-wheel homebuilt, http://www.tinytears.cc/Uni%20Restoration/index.html Which brings me to: does anyone know where I can get a set of the bumper hitches used for a single-wheeled trailer, the ones that bolted over the bumpers like on a D24? I've been hunting high and low, can't find a source. Thanks, John B.
greg g
Bill I was just in my Tractor Supply company store and they had their brand wire welder on sale for 225. A step up from the Harbor freight one I bought as it has provisions for using gas if you opt for the option. It has a 20 % duty cycle at 70 amps which is better than the 15 % I have with mine. I have been welding sheet metal with mine and its OK. This one doesn't have all the bells and whistles of the lincoln, miller, hobart and such but for out needs it should be fine. Farm hand brand http://www.tractorsupply.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay_10551_10001_49006_______14151%7C14220%7C14238%7C49006?listingPage=true
Jim Yergin
John B, I found my bumper hitch on eBay a couple of years ago. Clamps onto the bumper. Jim Yergin
